Yes they can advise! We found moving water pipes relatively easy (this is the royal we, it was all DH ), electrics he also did. Gas is harder, and more money, but by the sounds of it will be worth it. We don't have gas in our kitchen, but do for the CH, so when we re-do the kitchen, we will be paying to get gas down there!
Is it just part of the ceiling that needs repairing, DH has taught himself plastering, could you persuade yours?

Is only a small patch and its just cosmetic, but tge whole kitchen has these horrible inset lights. We cant get tge right bulbs for tgem any more so tgey look really bad. Tge ceiling is plastered in tgat ghastly whipped cream effect, so it all needs to go. Hubs is good with diy but not sure hed take that sort of thing on... not sure we'll have the time or energy either once bubba is here lol!

I'll send him over, he's annoyingly focused and will just do regardless of anything else that may need to happen/be happening! Rip out the inset lights, use the existing wires and put up something better! I have put one up, but couldn't figure out how to change the drill bit and had to ask someone for that part! It is possible to plaster over whipped ceiling effect, but DH said he would plaster board next time as it takes so long!

My DH does house referbs and I know that if a customer requests a kitchen from b&q, home as or wickes the fitting purse is a lot more as they are cheaply made and something is alway missing from the order or the demeansions on the design are out.

For whoever is fitting the kitchen(if not you) go by recommendation, as kitchen fitters are not all of the same standard, DH has seen some absolute horrors he has been called in to rectify.

B&q are good however for gathering ideas-would suggest looking at a range of showrooms.

We fitted a B&Q kitchen in the first house in France and an Ikea one in the second and the Ikea was much better quality wise.
