How to remove stains on shoes?

Just wondering whether anyone has any tips on how to remove stains from shoes? In particular, the dye that transfers from clothes? I ask because the dye from a new pair of jeans (dark blue colour) has come off on my favourite red shoes! I'll still wear them, but would be really pleased to know if there's a way to restore them to their former glory. :D

Thanks,
Sarah

Hhmmmm in which case I would go to a 'nice' shoe mender's and see what they say as they are heavily dyed to get red alot of removers could strip the colour and they could look worse.
Other than the stabdard cleaners and red scuff coat from Clarks the only other thing I would be tempted to try would be leather car upholstery cleaner. My FIL makes bespoke furniture and that's what he recomends for denim stains is car leather cleaner. But I would check on an inconspicuous area first.
