I'm an awful packer  We've moved 3 times in the last 4 years and everytime I've had good intentions of packing properly and everytime I've ended up shoving everything that hasn't been packed the night before in one big box :giggle:
Definately get the stuff your not going to need between now and move date packed first and do everyone a suitcase with the bare essentials then pack the rest of it.
Good luck :wine:

Our t'internet is finally back! :yahoo: So, I'm here again. As for how we move ... Given that we're living in our third house in Aus (and we've only been back 18 months), I'd say we do it efficiently. But we have to. I don't have a list as such, but it seems to go in this order:

Books/DVDs/CDs
Pictures and photos
Ornaments and trinkets
Sewing machines and fabric
Out of season clothes/extra linen/towels/doonas etc
Kitchen gubbins (slow cooker, food processors etc and also food such as baking bits and bobs and dried foods) - it does mean I have to be a bit more organised with my meal plans, but it's easier that way for me
Gardening stuff
BBQ (it needs sealing up for insurance purposes)
Lamps

Then I get serious a few days before the big day. Set out the clothes that you'll need until you're in the new house, also throw in clean bed linen and comforters/teddies for the children. It's your lifeline case, don't pack it by mistake! Take it with you. Then pack up the rest of the clothes and kitchenware. Leave out the mop/cleaners/hoover. And kitchen roll! It's amazing how much kitchen roll you get through when you move ...

Don't stress about the RE agents. Yes, they're evil. But we've always had our full deposit back. Make sure the oven is spotless and you're sorted, generally.

???? what for? Is that for the removalist? I think Joel is taking that on the trailer.

Ahhhh see this is where it gets very confusing as we are going on our UK trip in between so somehow need to have winter clothes and summer clothes for when we get back

Yes, for the removalist and their insurance. Make sure you remove the gas bottle, too. Most won't take them.

When we've done the visit and move all at once, I've taken the summer stuff with us as layers, instead of vests. If you get what I mean, so things double up.

It'll be fine. :)
