What hoover do you have?

Postby northernruth » Tue Jan 10, 2012 10:06 am

THink our hoover is about to give up the ghost - we have an electrolux Red which is about 3 years old and was a bit of a beast when we got it but tbh it is a PITA as there are any number of filters that need replacing/ washing on a regular basis

We have had a Dyson before but that died after a couple of years. I have a cleaner who comes in once a week and apart from that I don't hoover much (only got carpet in the living room downstairs) and tbh the Dyson was a bit on the heavy side..........

So what I'd like is a really powerful hoover that doesn't have a bag and doesn't need filters etc changing...........and ideally all tools stored on board.

Any recommendations?

I love my dyson, sorry hehe. I have the rollerball pet one - its not that heavy, easy to move & all stored on board.

Its my 2nd dyson, never had issues with either of them. Saying that, you should have got your previous one repaired under warranty, they have 5year guarantee i think.

I am rubbish with warranties - plus my cleaner hates Dysons..........but she might have to live with it lol...........we have cats so a pet one would be a good move (Electrolux is meant to be a pet one hence all the bleedin filters!)

@Rox is it this one? That's light at 5kg so I could live with that!

I have a compact dyson. Had it 3 or 4 years and I love it. Not heavy and packs away pretty small. We had a Henry before and I couldn't believe how much cleaner the dyson got everything :-)

We have a Miele Xtra Power 2300 which i have to say is the best hoover we have had,my cleaner thinks so too and she has used most types.
We have had it 7 yrs and still going strong,it gets hammered,we have 5000sq feet and it will keep going forever without overheating, its survived one year of builders rubble...
Yes it has a bag and yes it has a filter but i dont find changing them a hassle at all plus the tools are stored in the machine.
Fine German design

We have a Dyson Animal stowaway, it folds up small and all the tools fit on it, we've had it about 3 years now and it's been great.
