Do not take my advice as gospel as I am no seamstress but, could you use bias binding?

Hmmmm ok didnt' think of that, I have a bias binding maker so can do it with the same material so if I end up adding trim it won't look funny. Thanks girls  I've ironed it and it is looking good - just not sure how to finish the points of the sleeves though! Anyway off to do J's quickly so he has something to wear tomorrow!

After discovering I should have done the necks first before I sewed up both my dress and DHs tunic  I have managed to sort out DH's and finish his just now - I'm really pleased with it! It needs some hand sewing around the edges of the neckline but I'll let him do that :sew:

Not sure if I should start mine now or not! :sewing: :sewing:

And my final decision on the bias was - they didnt' use it back then so I decided to face it / them  :giggle: I have clearly been doing way too much research the last few months on medieval garb!

So I have sorted my neckline - practiced doing roundish necking facing on J's and Remy's costumes and did mine this afternoon and it looks nice :D Now trying to finish it off and realised you can see the raw edges on the inside of the sleeves and can't work out if I should unpick all the side seams and French seam them or if there is another way :-? @emmavmorgan ????

PS I still want my gores to make it fuller :giggle:
