When should the swelling go?

Postby Velvetsteph » Thu Apr 09, 2009 7:15 pm

Grace has little baby boobs and swollen lady parts all of which I understand to be normal and a result of hormonal changes etc - but I'm just wondering when it should stop...

She's actually lactating too which is just WEIRD!

MW has signed us off and we won't see the HV until she visits next Friday...

I've tried but I'm not sure what to put in the search so I haven't had any joy yet...

Done a quick google, it seems to be perfectly normal and should subside soon:

Baby girls can also have genital “issues” at birth; the most common is swelling. The labia, or vaginal lips, may be very swollen at birth and from two to four weeks afterward. Your baby girl may also have a projection of pink tissue from her vagina, called a hymenal tag. All swelling is the result of Mom’s hormones still circulating in the baby’s system.
