Restless Sleeping & early waking advice plz

Postby zippie-purple-monkey » Fri Apr 10, 2009 10:09 am

My lo is now 8 1/2 mths old. For the past 6 wks she's become a very light sleeper, she stirs if we go upstairs to the loo and wakes when we go to bed. SHe's still in our room and we'll be moving her into her own room as soon as it's finished (hopefully by the end of the mth). She wakes in the night and sings to herself - cute but very tiring, and has started to wake up at 5am I leave her in her cot until 6am in the hope she'll fall back to sleep but she very rarely does and if she does its only for about 20mins. She's huffing and puffing and tossing & turning all night long.

Our routine (If she wakes at 6am) is;

7am bottle (ig I give it any sooner she refuses it)
8am breakfast
11am nap
12pm bottle
1pm lunch
3pm yoghurt, then nap at 3.30
5pm dinner
6.30pm bath, bottle and in bed for 7pm

I'm pretty exhausted - any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong???

Thanks
Chelle

Sounds as though you've got her in a good routine. Might be worth trying to suspend bedtime until 8pm unless she gets very grumpy - if she is more tired, she may sleep more deeply, and for longer. My LO has always gone to bed at 7.30 - 8.30pm and generally sleeps until 6.30/7.30am. She'll probably improve when she's in her own room.

YOu will probably find she is more settled when she is in her own room, we have always found this, think they get very disturbed when there is other people in the room, the first time Gracie slept through the night was when she went to her own room at 5 weeks and has slept through ever since apart from when she was poorly. x

Yeah I think we're disturbing her - hubby snores :evil:
Will push hubby to finish the wood in lo's room so we can get her in there when he's off on Tues/weds.

Here's to lots of sleep *prays!* WOuldn't be so bad if I hadn't stopped the caffeine lol :hohoho:
