Black gum

Postby tracedw » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:46 pm

Conan has had 8 teeth (front 4 top and bottom)since about 5 months old and is teething like a demon ATM.Well, i noticed a area on his gum(top right where his molar or pre- molar should be)is swollen and black. I have googled it and the general opinion is a blood vessel in the un-erupted tooth sac has burst, either due to trauma or just that the tooth is about to cut the gum. Whilst i am ok to leave it and just wait until the tooth cuts, i wondered if anyone has had experience of this because i havn`t seen it before. I hope it comes soon cos i have one grumpy little boy atm. By the way all his molars look like they are on their way, just one area is black though, he doesnt have a temp or anything like that either so im not worried about an infection ATM.
thanks Tracy x

Kieren had this with the last tooth that came through, it looked like a swollen bruise on his gum but it went as soon as the tooth was through...

Nathan had this too with one of his teeth being ready to cut. It dissappeared on it's own.
