Travel cot for a 16 month old

Olver doesn't settle in a real bed when we go to other people's houses, so were thinking about getting a travel cot. Is there any point as he's now 16 months old, or would he only be using it for a short while?

What travel cots or alternatives would you suggest?

Gracie has been in a bed since she was 14 months old but when we go visiting she tends to be in a travel cot and settles no problem in it, she is 28 months.

Think ours is a Graco one but they are all pretty much samey imo

I agree with Kirstyh that they're all pretty much the same. I guess how long you'd use it for all depends on how long it is until you put LO in a proper bed. DS1 slept in a travel cot at my Mum's house until he was just over 2 years but had DS2 not have been around at that time, he may well have been in there until 2.5yrs

DS2 will prob use it until hes somewhere between 2 & 2.5yrs

We have a little life one. An arc 2 i think.it's so light and packs up small,it's like a little tent.it's bigger than most travel cots.

hes always been in bed with me and from 6months in a cot, but he loves it and sleeps really well! and he can use it as he gets alot oldr which is a bonus.
she puts it inbetween her bed and the wall so he doesnt fall out.

Depends if you are thinking of having more kiddies at somepoint or not...

Ds used ours at my dads the other week and he's two and a quarter. It really depends how long your ds is. I know Steph has already offered, but you are welcome to borrow ours too.
Otherwise you could try freecycle, they do turn up on there.

Jas is still using a travel cot at almost 27 months. I'm getting a bit worried that she's able to rock it when she's in a rage though

They are expensive but we picked up a second hand one at a boot fair for just few ££s
