done use wine or any alcohol in any dish i make but especially not if i know children/babies will be eating it, just my opionion thou, xx

I have no problem with my LO eating anything that we make in wine/beer - it's not like we use that much in it anyway! :wink:

We always give dd some if I've put alcohol in, it's usuallyonly a dash anyway x

I make risotto with white wine and spag bol/stews with red and I give it to my children.

Well I think it's perfectly fine to cook a dish with wine and serve it to children (Trust me I'm French :giggle: ). However, if I had guests I would either check with them or cook something separate as a back up.

This said, it's also perfectly ok to omit the wine in a recipe and replace it by more stock, flavoured with anything you like. Wine is only in there for flavour and richness.
