Messiness?

Postby Cyrillia » Fri Jul 22, 2011 12:20 pm

Hey all,

I'm just wondering what your experiences are as to when little ones start to get a bit tidier? I mean eating-wise - Ethan still finishes every meal covered in everything. If he's eating you can guarantee it'll be everywhere - he'll spill yoghurts and drinks all the time. He's still drinking from a spouted cup as he's just so messy. I've tried just going to cups, thinking that he'll just get used to it, but he hasn't!

He's three in three weeks and starting nursery in September.

Grace is quite tidy usually but Isabelle has only recently got the hang of the idea that she should be neat and tidy at mealtimes  all the wrong way round!!!

I think Aidan got a bit tidier somewhere between starting school and now! I can remember in the early days of school having to change his school jumper most mornings as he would get his breakfast down it, and when he came home it would go straight in the wash as he had got his dinner down it. oh the joys! He now tends to leave his mess on the table for me to clean up, I think its a man thing as DH also leaves crumbs for me. I've given in!

Nayan's fine (at 10), Tallin's ok (at 8). Ocean's pretty messy though (he's 6). It'll come with time.

James makes a mess and he's three-and-a-half. He'll often end up with half his food over his face and the other half over the table or the floor, specially with yoghurt or pasta.
Mind you, I can still spill things and I'm 41 ;)

All of mine are messy, even the boobfed one who likes to pop off and socialise with the world mid let down but my Joe is starting to become a little less messy at 4 and a half! He still spills but not too bad. If it's any consolation my eldest daughter is 3 in November and she STILL smooshes everything squidgy in her hands so it squelches out between her fingers, it drives me insane but I don't say anything as im hoping she'll get bored and grow out of it...I'm beginning to doubt it a little now though!
