Turkey

Right you fountains of all knowledge!

I need to cook Turkey for 9 people this year. My oven is a 50cm new world job. Small and not very accurate!

Would I fit and 5/6kg Turkey in it? Would I be better of with two crowns?

Giblets????

Is it a single or a double oven?

Actually I m not sure that matters much, except for if you need to put other things in with it.
I prefer to cook a whole bird, but that's because Im a leg kinda gal! I ve never cooked a crown.
We cooked for 15 last year (6 kids), and had an under 6kg Turkey. It just about fitted in our oven which is 35cm floor to roof in oven space if that helps?!

Whatever you pick, just put it in first thing as you can then take it out when it's ready, cover in tin foil and keep it warm whilst you cook everything else

I can remember the first Christmas we cooked turkey me and dh were nearly vomiting removing the giblets. Turkey crown ever since, no help with your problem, but you can get a pretty big turkey crown. I know in the past my dads had to remove turkey legs and cook them separately when it won't fit, but then my dad buys a turkey that weighs as much as pips/ can feed an army even though he's only cooking for 7

The giblets come in a sealed lovely little plastic bag these days ( well from Tesco!) and you, with joyful glee, chuck em straight in the bin :hohoho: !
