We don't do turkey at all, we try to do something different every year and but direct from the farmer if we can. This year it's a rib of hellifield highland beef, think it was about £45 - it's a fair size though.

Eek! Have I overpaid? We rarely buy meat and only organic...

our local butcher is doing a 3kg Turkey fillet, a ham, beef joint, stuffing, bacon, sausages and Turkey glaze for £27.50, which I think is a good deal and should feed 4-6 people. I think the animals are raised well by the butchers themselves and the turkeys are free range.

I usually only buy whole chickens when I see them for sound £4 or less, they're about £8 from the butchers although their chickens might have had happier lives... £20 for a chicken is very expensive though!

Sounds about right for an organic turkey @ems101
There is such a jump in welfare standards to from free range to organic, and they grow much slower so are much more expensive to rear.
Having visited several farms over the years, I only buy organic eggs and poultry too.
We are getting ours from Abel and Cole.

I don't know the ins and outs but I know I don't want an animal pumped with antibiotics! I guess as a one off its an expensive treat ;-)
