You could get one of those uplighter type shades - I'll see if I can find a pic. They are quite common for kids bedrooms so the pictures are facing down. Kind of like an upside down umbrella shape?

Joel is handy isn't he? Just get him to change the fittings to cheap paintable wall lights - they can cost about a fiver each and would be better than having willies poking out of your walls :giggle:

How about changing the bulbs to shorter spiral ones and making something like these in plaster (but fit them as downlighters, rather than up lighters?

They look like they have used cheap seiling fitments instead of wall lights (and saved themselves a fortune in the process no doubt). You kind of need an adapter that will poke the willies upwards............:wink:
