Personally would go with laminate everywhere apart from the Kitchen, where I would put down tiles.

We have tiles in the Utility/Kitchen/Hall and both bathrooms downstairs, they are easy to clean, hardwearing and still look like new - but they are cold and will be a pita to remove. Laminate is in the sitting room and a couple of bedrooms downstairs too, and gets a lot of abuse but still are in good condition and go with any decor.

With laminate you get what you pay for. The more you pay the longer lasting it is and more hard wearing. A good underlay is very important
