Deck! Finished pic in OP :)

We are having a deck built at the back of the house. The builder came around to day to pick up a key, collect the deposit and finalise arrangements.


He is starting this weekend while we are away. Weather permitting , we should have a deck in by next weekend

(No, I haven't lost my marbles giving a stranger a front door key. We rent and he is the handyman / builder who works for the managing agent so is properly vetted etc and has often done work in the house when we weren't home)

So, a before picture for posterity...
The deck will go from the back of the house to the end of the kitchen extension (on the left side of the picture). It will be rather huge but will give us a really decent outdoor space we can use even when the ground is damp underfoot.

Now we just need some outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Oh, and some decent weather!!

Fantastic, I love our deck, it is 10m long and 4m wide and cost us only 2k

Can't wait to see progress piccies to, it is such a fab way to make space usable, where we have ours is on a downward slope so it is on stilts

We started ours over the weekend, can't wait for it to be finished, you have the right idea about having it done whilst your away, my garden now resembles a swamp what with all the rain and the dogs are dragging mud all through the house it will be worth it though, can't wait to see pics of yours finished

Work is due to be finished today! The weather put paid to anything being done earlier in the week
