:hohoho: Fair enough.
My vote goes to forest green then.

I kept perusing the curtains, and there's a some with a longer drop! Gonna send dh up with a tape measure tomorrow to check. Would be a cream/ivory though, so not sure how that'll work, but it would really lift the brownness that's hitting me in the face.

Thanks @clothmama - what did I do wrong?! I know there's a post somewhere about how to upload pics, but couldn't find it last night!

Have just realised my own front room is looking very very brown, but we're still decorating/furnishing from moving so think we're going to add a bit of duck egg blue in here. Don't know how though. We still need to replace the curtains and the rug so hopefully one or both of these. Also need to buy some vertical blinds and new seating and a new book case eek! Fleabay here I come :giggle:

Also Aidan is über jealous of your piano, we use to have one but gave it away due to space in our old home. Wish I'd stored it now :(

Also :giggle: Having seen the pic of your room I would try to pick out the greens in your wall pictures as it will also compliment the outside foliage, easily done with some house plants.

Browsing for green things now!

It's the sofa throws and curtains that need to be lifted mainly. Shame, cos those curtains are lovely irl, really heavy and lush, got them made specially when we moved in.

The piano was £40 in my favourite junk yard! Same with the bureau. And in the other room we sold our old stuff to buy second hand stuff, so got a whole new look and a layout that works better, for the price of paint and some cushions from eBay. The rug in this room is the only new thing, and only after months of looking for something suitable secondhand.

Good point about internal planting. I got rid of ours when Orla was at the 'eating everything in sight' stage!
