It looks great @Allie - I love the floors and the windows and I think pale neutral is the way to go with walls in older houses with lots of wood etc! Do I remember that it was either dark or patterned wallpaper or something in there before?

@clothmama, yes it was dark red patterned wallpaper in the alcoves before. I absolutely love my new room, it still makes me smile every time I walk into it


I can't wait to decorate up for Christmas, I have some gorgeous natural handmade ornaments to hang from the beams.

So so much better (I was cheeky and added the before to the first post too so I could compare them ) - I'd be smiling too - that red wallpaper was terrible in the alcove
