Oscars Bum

Oscar has come out in sores all round his bum and pinky (Its really round the front rather than the back). I have taken his nappy off so he has some air and I put sudocrem on him last night (which I never normally use). It seems to be slightly better. I have not changed the washing powder.

Does anyone know what it could be?

Is he teething? My two always got really sore wee bums when they were teething. With Rowan even her pee seems to burn, never mind the caustic poos! I found a tiny bit of Metanium helped when they were really sore. Hope it clears up soon.

Give him lots of nappy free time, air is really the best thing for nappy rash. Also, only wipe him when he is dirty, if the nappy is wet just change it without cleaning. I prefer using more natural creams for nappy rash too like Northern Essence Diaper salve and Earth Mama Angel Baby balm. I've moved this to the nappy rash section for you, have a read, there's quite a few tips and some good advice in this section.

Yep, it heals sore nipples and baby bums equally well. It was recommended to me on mumsnet and is really good as a bum cream.

Thanks Vikki I have a tube upstairs as luckily never had to use it for me, think I am going to invest in some shea butter too.
