Best Nappy cream?

Postby brundog » Tue Jan 04, 2011 5:21 pm

Hello

Just wondering what cream you use on your cloth bums?
I use fuzzis and pop ins and issys and know your not supposed to use bum cream with them, but my daughter gets nappy rash and has excema so looking for recommendations on creams and online places to buy?

My friend recommended weleda calendula cream and gave me a link to green jelly who were selling some off as date was short on them, however they are now sold out...

thanks in advance

I really like Waitrose Bottom Butter as there are just a few natural ingredients and my 4yo says it smells like custard. It sorts any soreness out super quick and doest dry. I do keep another pot for faces and other dry parts too :D

william has eczema as well and we used lucas' paw paw cream, it was great and didn't clog up his nappies

another vote for paw paw... dd had eczema for first few months of life, but since using paw paw cream eczema has gobe.. at it clears up nappy rash very quickly too.

can't check brand right now as :bf: ... i did have the one in the red tube, but changed to a different on (yellow/green/white tube) as the 2nd brandhas no petrochemicals in so is betterfor facial use. will try to remember to check brand name later.

angel baby bottom balm - it's magic!! Contains st.johns which is amazing for healing...

Metanium only works for specific rashes for us and we find it has to be used very sparingly as it can burn the skin...

I'll have to check out the Bottom Butter as like brundog, my LO now has some excema. I used Sudocrem on his nappy rash when he had it before (pre-cloth and pre-excema) and still sometimes pop a tiny bit on as a preventative measure at night as we're still using disposables overnight at the mo, but guessing that's no good for cloth nappies.

Not sure what to suggest cream wise but pop a liner in the nappy to stop cream clogging it up, I love minkee liners x
