Do you have a boy with sensitive skin?

Postby bubbaloo » Tue Jul 01, 2008 3:28 pm

I do and it drives me nuts...

He frequently gets red patches on him, especially under his sac.
Its not the nappies I dont think as Im stripping them constantly to eliminate this.
Could it be sweating?

What nappies work best for you?

What washing powder are you using? This was constantly happening (with other problems as well) when we were using non-bio. Bio worked like magic at stopping the horrible red bits - we still get some reddness but use Bepanthen on that as and when.

As for nappies we use anything and everything (pockets, fitted, bamboo etc)

We use about a dessert to table spoon size of bio persil or sainsbury's own brand big box type of powder.

Does this clog your nappies? I read fairy non-bio was bad for clogging nappies so how do you find bio?

Make sure you are washing at 60 too - I find that a 40 just doesn't do the job for my little guy unfortuantely. Ecover liquid detergent was the only one that doesn't make him rashy as far as we know (have tried quite a lot of different brands in the search for the right one!).

I've never found my nappies getting clogged - the washing machine does a cold prewash, 60 and extra rinse all in the one program setting and takes 2 1/2 hours. I have washed at 40 only a couple of times but can't really risk it :?
