@Louise how do you do the ginger? It has amazing properties for cleansing etc so am thinking it would be a good addition but do you use fresh and if so how do you get it small enough do you process it first?

I grate it.

Interesting as I was thinking I needed a juicer , I have a blender and liquidiser already.
Have you guys seen that juice diet documentory , it's about a guy from Oz who tried it and had excellent results , he goes over to America to help others! Really interesting watch!!

No not seen that, can you remember what it was called? The thing with juicing is that you dont' get all the fibre as that gets thrown out where if you blend to make a smoothie you are getting all the nutrients and fibre from the skin etc so your % of sugars is lower and fibre is higher which to me seems like good thing! @scarlet

I wasn't keen on the sound of it when you were I tidally describing "green smoothies"
But having seen your pics Tory... I'm more keen to try!
Can you taste the green bits- or does the fruit flavour over power it?

The fruit really hides it tbh, the spinach ones just taste a bit earthier I guess would be the best way to describe it. The celery and bok choy ones are actually much lighter and fresher tasting, I'm not a big celery fan but it works in these! Today I also added ginger and it was lovely and refreshing (thanks for the idea @Louise  ). I guess what it comes down to is that by starting the day with one of these I'm making sure I have my fruit and some of my veg for the day straight up. Today I was in a rush to get out so I just had some grain toast and then when I got home I had one for lunch :). Now that I'll be back at work / uni since I've started having them I think I'll try chopping my fruit at night ready for the morning and see how I go.

@clothmama could you have fruit portions in the freezer ready to whizz in the morning with some fresh veg?

Clothmama-why not just eat those ingredients whole in inventive ways if for weightloss? I always think whisking/blending is a bit of a travesty using perfect fresh veg and fruit! :giggle: glad you love it though :)
