Washing with soda crystals

Postby chocmuffin » Sun Aug 15, 2010 3:53 pm

 We live in a hard water area & I'm just wondering if putting soda crystals in with my nappy wash would help to reduce the amount of powder (I use whatever bio is on offer) I have to put in.
Would this would help reduce the need for so many extra rinses & strip washes?
Does it cause any damage to nappies or wraps?
How much should I put in?
Thanks in advance for your knowledge

Yes - stick a cup of soda crystals in with your detergent and use about 1/2 as much detergent, you may need to play around with the amounts until you find something that works for you though...

Doesn't cause damage to my knowledge, when I used it in the past I just put it in the same place as the detergent...

I've never thought of using it in a wash. I use crystals to clean my washing machine once a month, it definitely helps to keep everything running better.
