Lots of top tips already been given :D
Just one more to add: make sure you that you do use powder or powder tab washing powder for your nappies and NOT liquid detergents.
Not only is powder kinder to your machine (less gunk build up) but it also rinses out of nappies better (so less detergent build up) which equals fresher smelling nappies :mrgreen:

I think we live in a hard water area, the nappies are really crunchy when not tumble dried. We may be overloading the machine as we dont wash nappies every day. Will try less in the machine. Have got some in on a wash now and will strip them and see how they go. Am also going to stop tumble drying for a bit and see if that makes a difference!!!

I do a rinse, then 40-60 wash, then another rinse, then in the dryer. Mine don't smell. I use Bold 2in1 and if they start to smell a bit I strip wash them :)
