Help - hand washing nappies?

Postby 4timeslucky » Tue Jul 01, 2008 9:55 pm

Our washing machine has broken down - its still under warranty but dont know how long it will take to fix!
Typical I have a whole bin full of nappies - mostly only wee on though luckily - it coudnt be nearly empty could it! :(

So I have these to wash and obviously it could be a while that I have to keep washing by hand.

I've washed about 4 earlier today but would welcome any tips please. HELP?

I've got some nappy soaker that came with other stuff and have just stuck a couple of dirty ones in to soak. It says not to use on coloured clothes, does this mean any of my coloured/patterned nappies will run/get ruined?

I might have to take a trip to the laundrette as we have 4 kids lots of washing anyway but that wont help with dirty nappies.

Thanks
Kath

what a nusciance :(
Think i'd go to my mums with them but as we've got 6 kids would probably have to use dispo's till machine fixed.
Washing in the baths a good idea, i suppose they'd drip dry if you're using pockets, just take longer than ususal

Hope it gets sorted soon

My family aren't close by so I'd probably see if I could borrow a friend's washing machine :?

Thanks

My family arent close by either

I might have to resort to her brothers night time disposables at least till I've washed these. Once I've caught up then it wouldnt be such a problem!
