   Hi and welcome - good on you giving cloth a go after 4 in 'sposies :wine:

The girls have given some good advice and my biggest tip would be to try lots of different ones (2nd hand) to begin with so that you can work out what suits your baby's shape, what suits you and which types of nappies you love or perhaps don't get on so well with.

Ask lots of questions, do lots of reading and have fun building your stash! :D

I really liked them, and used them straight away, as soon as our lo was born, but I guess it depends on the child shape etc and what you get on with!

Everyone here is lovely and sure will give you helpful advice!

Hiya,

Thanks for your advice, My babies tend to be about 8-9lbs so I guess that some of the smaller nappies wouldnt have much use really. Also with the prefolds can you use any wraps? I love the minky ones x

Pretty much! I normally use pul wraps but I occasionally use minky, as they look so nice a little bottoms, so cute! :babyroll: They work well but the thing I personally like about pul wraps is if you are changing the nappy you can give it a quick wipe, if a bit damp or a bit dirty and use it again, which means you get you moneys worth!

I also haven't tried it myself but am thinking about it, but lots of the ladies on here swear by wool soakers!

I hope is helpful and I haven't wittered too much!

hi,
welcome to CNT!

my advice would be to also try reusable baby wipes, as disposable wipes used with cloth nappies is actually more work (!), as you have to fish the disposable wipes out of a dirty nappy whereas with reusable wipes and nappies you just put the whole thing in the nappy bin to be washed together. for reusable wipes solution, you can use water, a bit of olive oil and a chamomile tea bag for a newborn baby in a tupperware box. when they get a bit older you could put lavender oil/tea tree oil in as well (though my 6 month old seems allergic to this, or anyway has very sensitive skin...)

hope this helps!

have you also thought of trying cloth sanitary protection!?!?! you could wash these with the nappies as well. i'm just getting into csp and have bought some new and used ones to try.

good luck!!!
