Complete newbie!

Postby am1sha » Sun Sep 18, 2011 10:47 am

Hi all!

My name's Amisha and I live in Woodford. I'm 29 weeks pregnant with my first baby.
I've been thinking about using cloth nappies for a few weeks but have been getting a bit overwhelmed by all the information and brands available, so hoping to meet up with a local network soon so I can see how the different types work in practice before I dive in properly.

OH isn't convinced about cloth yet (think's it'll be too much work when the baby comes) but is willing to give it a go, so hoping to convert him!

Thanks

Hi & welcome. Just ask away if you need to. DH loves that I use cloth but in all these years of use has never actually used one

hi amisha!!!
welcome to the cnt! have you got any specific questions? please ask away.
in my experience it is always the mummy who does nappies so don't let your hubby influence you! they are expensive to buy but will save you lots in the long run. my money saving tip is to use reusable wipes with water (or a home made solution) alongside reusable nappies. the best nappies for young babies are 2 parter ones (so nappy underneath and then a cover on top, wool is ideal as a cover). you can buy loads of second hand on here on classifieds.
good luck

Hi amisha!
you'll find all the help you need here - just ask away!
no question is too silly, we've all had loads of questions in the beginning (... and I often still do now, 2.5yrs down the line about cloth nappies!)

Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy

Thanks guys!

I emailed a rep who seems to cover my area so hoping to get a look and feel for some of the different kinds soon, but I'm sure I'll be posting loads of questions!
