hi and welcome! would really recommend wool for day and night! felted ones might be better for crawlers as they are hard wearing and don't get spoiled as much. have a look on the classifieds here as there are always woolies going cheap (at least cheaper than new)

We use the free big pampers wipes box that came with the pack of freebies & vouchers they give you in the hospital :giggle:

As for liners, it is way easier to get the poop off the liner than off a pocket nappy. Any that misses the liner can stay on the nappy as long as it's not a big lump.

 and welcome to the tree :cnthug:

Haven't really got much else to add to what other mums have said other than we use fleece and minkee liners as they are great at keeping wetness away from your LOs skin.

Another thought is: have you considered using fleece during the day as a cover? Lots of WAHMs sell flongies and you can also get fleece soakers that will go under clothes. I didn't find it as reliable as lanolised wool but I know mums who have used it very successfully.

Am also very envious of you spending Xmas up the Lakes. Its my favourite place in the world and would  to spend Xmas up there. Whereabouts are you staying? :D
