Quick update on all that's happened since the birth...
Firstly, reporting that DH and I were initially told thevwrong weight! His birth weight was 2.39kg (5lb 4oz).
We were transferred down to the post natal ward after delivery, having been advised to feed 2 hourly to requirments, topping up with formula if insufficient BM. Having done well for the first night like thus, we were advised to step up to every 3 hours, and increase the volume. My BM supply continued to increase, so able to top up with BM only after just a few feeds. Blood sugars had been all over the place, but at this point, stabilised
The cardiologists are happy with him; ECG normal and echo revealed a small hole, likly related to gestation. They will review the echo in 3m but expect to resolve.
The brain scan showed no new lesions. Again review (in 2m)
paeds are happy too. Bloods (FBC, electrolytes) all within normal limits. Passing faeces, no vomiting/discomfort/other bowel signs, so bowel issues unlikely. He weighed 2.32kg on day 3, so only 70g list, I.e. A 3% weight loss.
I have a cellulitis over my abdomen, but it is responding well to antibiotics. Waiting for prescriptions, then can go home.
Back to clinic for thyroid3 function test in 10 days.
Percy is feeding well. Bright and alert and gaining weight.
We are waiting for prescriptions to go home with, however these should have been ready first thing :/
Looking forward to an evening with all my boys at home
