My mums hen went broody a week ago and the stubbon old bird was sitting on nothing and peeking everyone who went near her.
My mum didnt say no :giggle: so i went to a farmer friend of mine who has some hens who lay blue eggs, and smuggled 6 eggs under her :lookround:

im really excited as i lost my chickens to the fox a few years back. Tomorrow we are picking up a little hut for them. But im not allowed to count my chickens before they hatch :giggle: Fingers cross we have some chicks in 21 days time.

My MIL has just done the same with one of her chickens and now the kids have a wee tiny chick to look after! It's sooo cute (as Rowan told me today)!! :giggle: They're busy trying to decide on a name for it. :D I love that you smuggled them in!! :hohoho:

2 of my hens went broody and we now have 4 chicks- 1 is still sitting on eggs   however our hen was not a natural mother and started to peck her chicks and squashed 2 so we had to bring the remaining 4 inside and they are under an articifical hen- vv cute

Have you left your chick with it's mum?? I am unsure what to do when the second set hatch worried the same thing might happen :-? :-?
