Wee boy bit looking sore

Postby silentriver » Sat Jul 14, 2012 3:45 pm

We are using cloth nappies lots of different types with little lamb microfiber liners.

His wee man bits look a bit red raw as though it has been rubbing him. Has anyone else had this problem and any solutions on how to help ??

How often are u changing him? I am not a fan of the little lsmb liners and find fleece keeps the skin drier. Usually metanium clears any redness up for us.

You could also try soaking a liner in Camomile tea, that's nice and soothing

WSS, my ds had this when he was a lot littler, and we just changed even more often to make sure he was always dry (though it was pre weaning so he was already changed every other hour or so anyway), dried him really really well after cleaning him up and kept it slathered in metanium. It went and fingers crossed hasn't come back! He's normally in sposies at night and for a little while we put fleece liners in them too in case they were irritating him, iykwim, but I don't know if that did anything or not. Hope it clears up for him soon. :D

Sounds like he might be sensitive to wetness. My DD2 is too. I just change her often and use a fleece liner to keep her nice and dry. And as the other ladies have said, metanium clears up any soreness v quickly for us.

Corn flour is also helpful, dust it on like talc. Good between changes to keep all the crevices dry. Also don't let metanium get on your nappies, it stains and is a total bugger to get out.
