@Dora I don't think you are being cynical at all - you have hit the nail on the head! All you have to do is look at my cost comparison article to see the huge amount of money that cloth nappies loose the supermarkets! Here's a link if you haven't read it!
https://www.clothnappytree.com/info.php?article=6Can you imagine if everyone started using cloth (again) or only used disposables part time that would equate to an enormous loss of profits for so many big companies from the manufacturers of the nappies right down to the supermarkets. If you look just at the 1152 babies that are on our ticker figures they have saved 7.3 million nappies which would have given the disposable nappy makers 1.4 million pounds of sales - scary amount of money for relatively few babies really! Imagine if this was extrapolated over every baby in the UK

the dispo' makers and sellers would not be happy campers!!
