Have you used a cloth nappy library, or started one?

Postby 2greys » Wed Jun 19, 2013 9:18 pm

Hello, I am involved in starting a free cloth nappy library for my local area (Guernsey). We will have 2 packs of nappies to loan out, mainly aimed at people with 1 to 2 month old babies who are considering cloth nappies but aren't convinced, or don't know what to buy. Our current list we are thinking of is;

Tots Bots Easy fit x2 (because they are sold locally)
Bumgenius Freetime x2
Little Lamb OSFA pocket x2 (a cheaper option)

Little Lamb Microfibre size 1 x2
Bamboozle Stretch x2
Easy Peasy Bumble x2

1 Blueberry one size wrap
1 Little Lamb OR tots bots wrap size 1

1 Flip wrap and 3 inserts
2 prefolds
2 terries, 1 nippa

1 bucket, 1 mesh, 20 cloth wipes, 2 wetbags, fleece liners

Any comments? Would this be too many and too confusing, eg would you prefer 10 easyfits and 10 bamboozles? Or would you actually like more different types to try?

That sounds great! Ive just become a nappy advisor snd trial kit host. I havent got my kit yet, so just demoing my own stash. I think the main failing from my own experience is once you have tge kut, knowing how to use it. Written instructions just didn't seem to do the trick. I tjink photos of nsppies being put on or more peer support/advice/follow up demos is needed. Wwould there be scope for that?

One of the ladies im going to work with suggested setting up a library. So I may be bsck to ask your advice at some point!

Looks great. I would maybe add a small blueberry wrap ar well because my 4 month old only just fits in the one size and leaks may put parents off.

Definitely keep Blueberry as they are completely bomb proof and fit both my huge chunky toddler and my skinny tiny so they are great.

To me that looks like a huge amout of stuff and I would worry about totally overwhemling someone! I would perhaps split it in to a fitteds and wraps kit and an all in one/ pockets kit, then people can choose and won't just look at all this stuff and have a brain fart.
