Hi eveyone,

I'm a new mummy and have a little DD and I want to use cloth nappies, people have recommended tots bots to me, any other brands i should check out?

Also where do you look online for offers and discounts at shops for them? I'm a bargain hunter! :coffee:

Thanks everyone xx

Mrs SJP

Hi and welcome!

Oh there are so many!
There are all sorts of commercially made nappies - tots bots, little lambs, bum genius and many more!

Then there are all the pretty WAHM nappies!

What is important to you in a cloth nappy system? That might help is help you narrow it down!

The company websites and Facebook pages are a good place to find any deals that are going, but you might do well to try a few out pre loved from the classifieds on here to figure out what works for you and your DD.

Exactly as sim said, you need to work out what you want in a nappy then start looking.

If you narrow down the choices to
all in ones - the most like a disposable or
2 part system - so cloth nappy and cover

then you can start narrowing down the choices.

BUT if you've never tried any then getting a few different ones is the good place to start. Have you got a local nappy loan scheme you could try first? If not PLEASE DON"T buy a whole system of any one type of nappy. They look very appealing, but most likely you'll not like a part of it and then get put off and either give up or sell at a loss.

If not you could get a tots bots trial pack, I think they have 1 of everything they sell and try them out.

My advice would also be dont buy too many before actually trying. If youre only after one to try, look for companies with free postage. The fsot here is a great place to get a good deal. Also-velcro is one of those things you either love or hate. I did like the easier fit but it shredded quite a few clothes items :(

There's a code for 50% off too so you get the whole pack for £23 - (enter code BTRIALP122 in the coupon code box)

Narrow down by all means but do be flexible...remember you don't know what build your LO will be and your opinion can change.

Both DH & I are small, 5'4", so I expected a petite baby who would get on great in the little lamb bamboos I invested in.

We now have a big chunky thighed lady who outgrew the size 1s at 4.5 mths & even gets chaffing around the legs in the size 2. Still use them as night nappies but I've 25 that I only got 2 month's use out of, and more than I need of the size 2...just because she's chubby!

Also I'm veeeery slow & meticulous putting nappies on so it takes me ages. Starting to wonder if I shouldn't have bought all in ones instead.

So do try different types before you buy in bulk and if you'd like to try one or two little lambs or tots bots bamboozle stretch feel free to PM me :D

I really like the kittykins quiz (only 4 questions) to help narrow down choice - not that you will necessarily want what they sell, but it helps you think about what might be important to you - like drying speed, and what type of water (hard or soft) you have.

I've ended up using terry squares, having tried a whole lot of different options. Just love the combo of absorbancy, flexibility and drying speed. Folding isn't hard, honest :hohoho:

Really should get around to selling some of the ones I tried but just don't use any more...
