Are there any suds in the machin on the rinses?
What do they feel like when wet?
Do you have hard water? Maybe try a bigger dose of powder...

If you want to post one to me I can try washing it here to see if it's you machine causing the problem? @laceybat

I wouldn't have thought it would be a soap residue, as you would know about it when using them, when I had that with mine they developed a bed ammonia smell when wee'd in. Perhaps try a wash with apple cider vinegar in the fabric softer drawer?

I think you need to use more powder in the drawer. Do you use a water softer such as calgon? Hard water areas need more detergent to gets items clean.

If you live in a hard water area then 1tsp of powder is nowhere near enough. I would probably also try washing at a higher temp I think. I use a full dose of bio powder. (usually Bold 2 in 1 as that helps keep them softer) I cold rinse, wash at 40 (sometimes at 60), then 2/3 rinses at the end.

we have hard water here, and I use a full dose of powder. But I do have a top loader too so there's a massive amount of water running through them.
