Hi girls, I now have a whole lot of nappy making supplies and want to start making some up for baby boy :sewing: . I'm a bit scared of sewing PUL and FOE - can anyone give me some tips on how to do it? I want to make wraps with what I have.

Haha ok so you know you have two sides, the waterproof and then the other (printed) side. if the waterproof side is tacky or drags if you run your finger over it, use tissue paper or my new invention paper nappy liners to stop the drag when your sewing. and use your walking foot.

If its the thicker stuff you should be able to get away with just the walking foot.

HAVE A STIFF DRINK!

:panic: I can't I'm :pregnant: :panic:
Will that make it impossible?? :hohoho: :hohoho:

Nope doesn't seem to drag much. I stopped using my walking foot as it is a cheap generic one and I've forgotten to organise a new one - I'll just have to try it and remember to get a new one.

What about the FOE have you used that Amanda @gilbertandmartha ? Is it tricky?

Never used the stuff! I bought some with the intention of making nappies for lola and its just sat there doing nothing!

I always used a Teflon foot on my machine so that the PUL doesn't stick.

Let me know how easy it is as I'm tempted to try it.

WSS. Best thing is, @clothmama that the Husky comes with a Teflon foot! Check your feet.

Wraps are pretty straightforward. Just make sure you keep your tension equal when you're stretching the fabric or else you'll end up with one leg hole tighter/looser than the other.
