Nappy recommendations for chunky thighed wiggler

Postby PixieFix » Sun Aug 02, 2015 8:30 am

Hi all. Need some recommendations for nappies that will comfortably fit a chunky thighed one. The little lambs we have can sometimes pinch around her thighs, I think the bamboozles are a bit better but any other ideas? Just want to know what my options are. Also, this is a baby that now tries to escape every time I go to put a nappy on her (its driving me up the wall :loopy: ) so needs to be quick to put on, not fiddly. Poppers are ok but it can be hard trying to hold her down and popper them up at the same time. Its actually really stressful, I feel like I have to wrestle with her to get a nappy on every nappy change and I hate that, so any ideas about what to do about that would be good too

How old is she? My 15m old is really wriggling too. I agree its horrible to hold them down whilst changing. I try to keep reassuring that it's just a nappy change, that it will be over soon. It also helps to keep distractors near by. Maybe a special nappy change treasure basket with sensory items in, a pine cone, a beady necklace, a metal whisk etc.

She is almost 9 months. I like the idea of a nappy change treasure box! Sounds like it would be fun putting it together as well :D

It really is! I like putting them together for friends too, best between 5/6m-1yr.

My boys are pretty chunky, ive uses little lambson them, fitteds and sized pockets. Sized pockets have been ace for us, sz 2 should suit you.

I have a chunky, wriggling 16 month old (wish I'd thought of a sensory box a year ago, sounds fab  )
I have recently bought 3 sized LL pockets and would definitely recommend them too. We have lots of LL one size pockets which have been my workhorse nappy for about a year but I can see her chunky thighs won't last much longer in them. The size 2s I've bought will clearly last her for a decent amount more weight gain as couple poppers left on the legs.
I think a lot of people have found opposite to me but I find snaps great for wriggling baby as once I know which which setting she needs I do leg snap on each side first and then waist, so if I have temporarily lost the battle and LO has escaped off the mat i know the nappy won't fall straight off and I can scramble after her to finish it off (as you can see I'm not great at keeping the upper hand here :giggle: )... Needless to say I change her on the floor :babyroll:

Actually I think my Grovia (snaps) are even easier! Ive still got a rise settling to go and more snaps on legs. Love them and quick and easy to snap onto LO.

I have heard SO many good things about the ll sized pockets, will definitely need to give them a go! I have one os ll pocket nappy which is actually my favourite pocket  also been really keen to try grovia for a while, particularly because I think they will be easier for my mum to use. With that excellent review @Dancing mum I think I should take the plunge....any excuse to buy new nappies :giggle:

Perhaps a couple of velcro pocket nappies for when she is really bad? Trouble is that at some point she'll work out how to undo them :giggle: :giggle: Agree with the others, really happy with both my sized and one size Little Lambs. I also love my Fuzzi Bunz, Rémy is wearing some that were Louis' and they were his workhorse nappy and still going strong 9 years later which I think is pretty impressive!
