never heard that one before either! I agree she maybe got mixed up with the suggestion that it might be easier to get your head round having a newborn for a few weeks before tackling it... but can't imagine any reason why you "shouldn't" use cloth from the start!!!

Our first nappies with Natalie were OneLife, but they were huge on her!!! Ryan went right into Nature Babies Lovables, BG AIO smalls, Lollipop micros and a few bamboo terries.

not read all the replys but maybe it has something to do with some hospitals not liking you to use cloth if your in there for more than a day. I no i was adviced not to due to storring dirty nappies untill collected

I heard of one hospital which actually insists that every baby goes into cloth when it's born, until it's had its first wee, so they know when it's wee'd. Even if only one hospital insists on it, I can't see any problem!

I know a few ladies over on BC Cloth Board used terries provided by & laundered by the hospital ... worth asking ahead of time, these might not be as cute as what we might buy ourselves, but hey if it saves on washing!

Rufus 1st Nappy was a SBOCV NB in periwinkle & a personalised WN XS wrap ... he also had newborn Mutts, Sz0 nippa'd bimbles and 2 small JR's & XS Rikki all were perfect size & fit wise. Tots & LL were far too big til about 6 weeks.
