Too cold for skirties?

i've got three lovely skirties (wool) for DD and they fit well but the skirtie sections on each are only very short and don't even come down to her knee. it's too cold for DD to have bare leggies... and i've always found babylegs fall down! do people usually only use skirties for summer (all 1 week of it...)

After a suggestion by @Louise, Eleanor has been wearing hers with tights over. Just got to make sure they are loose enough so you don't get compression wicking.

I use skirties with tights over the top. As long as the nappy is absorbent enough, the skirtie has been lanolised well and the tights aren't too tight then its fine. I generally size up with tights anyway to fit over the big cloth bum! If its really cold I sometimes pop leg warmers over the top. I am not too keen on babylegs though as they are a) too short and b) too tight around the thighs. My favourites are Leg Huggers (bamboo so really nice and soft), Crawler Covers and Scrunchkins leg warmers.

I was going to suggest tights. Arwen looks so cute in her wool skirts it would be a shame for her not to wear them.
