Jan, I have had an implant both times( have it now after the LO) and never had a problem. I would recommend this to anyone but having said that my medical knowledge tells me that it doesn't agree with all women. My suggestions would be to speak to a family planning consultant and go through all the options and see what suits you.
With Implanon they usually want you to persevere with it for atleat 6 months as it can take that much time to agree with your body. So you can have a go and if it doen't suit you it can be removed. (main problems are heavy bleeding, wt gain as pregesterone makes you hungry, shouldn't be a problem if you can eat sensible, also can make pre-existing depression worse).
You won't find out till you use it. For me it was fantastic. And as I said there is always an option to get it removed. Most people(patients) hae been happy with it.
Hope that was helpfull.
