I have a mooncup too, and just love it! I used to have heavy periods and bad cramps, could only support tampons which lasted no longer than 2 hours...After using the mooncup, I just told myself "Why didn't I take the plunge earlier!!" Once you put it right, you just forget you even have your period, as you don't feel it at all. i don't have anymore period pain.
When out and about, I try to use the disabled loo as usually there is a bassin to wash it, otherwise, you can take a bottle of water to rinse it, but unless you are out a long time or have a very heavy flow, you should be fine.
About night time, no problem at all either. There are few days where my flow is heavier so I have to empty it as soon as I am awake, but I had to do that as well before. I still have to try it in the swimming pool, but I am not worried.

I remember hearing about menstrual cups about 7 or 8 years ago and thinking :puke: , the whole idea just sounded gross. I then forgot all about them and then about 3 years ago I heard of them again, and after about 6 months of washing poopy nappies it didn't seem that disgusting at all  . I just wish I'd gotten over the :puke: factor earlier.

I was much the same as the post above ^^

But now I have tried one, I can't believe how much better they are than the expensive horrible bits of cottonwool I was using before. I have REALLY heavy flow too and it copes miles better than the Super Plus Extra tampons that I was using. I dont find it any more or less hassle than tampax, except its great not having to spend money every month on throwaways.

I would highly recommend a Mooncup to anyone. :wine:

I've had mine about 18 months or so, obviously I was pregnant for 9 months of that but I love it! Anyone know when I can start using it again post partum? I asked before but have forgotten the answer!

Official advice is 6 weeks although you are far less likely to get an infection with a mooncup than a tampon.

how are mooncups volume wise? since af has appeared again my pp csp isn't even coping for an hour... need to find something to use for dd's swimming lesson where we're in pool for 30 mins and getting changed in someon'es dining room with all the other mummies and babies... leaking is not an option!

also, i should have read the background of what actually causes tss but haven't ... is there defnitely no risk with mooncup?
