Getting coil out in 2 weeks

Postby happytails » Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:54 am

Is it as uncomfortable and 'pokey' getting it out as it was getting it in?

How long did it take for things to feel 'normal'. My AF is still regular as in pretty much every 4 weeks thought is really light and lasts 19days or so and I always feel bloated so hoping that will disappear when it come out!

I was dreading mine coming out but I didn't even notice! Once the erm apparatus was in place (the one you have with a smear), it took about 1 second and after I asked "is that it?". I had minimal spotting for a day or 2 and then my af arrived 4 weeks after removal (had not been having af's while on the coil).

I was petrified of going because I did not like it at all when it went in! I'm not exagerating when I say it was totally painless & took just one second. I was worried because I could not feel the strings but the nurse found them in a flash x

I had mine out 2 weeks ago and really did expect it to be painful, the clamp thing expanding was uncomfortable (just like a smear) but the removal of the coil literally took a second and was pain free. No spotting or cramps here. x

What the others said, it comes out really quickly & easily. I was dreading it because I had a really hard time with it going in (tilted cervix & at that point, I hadnt had a baby) but she just whipped it out with no bother, slight discomfort for a second or two & that was it.
