The mini pill

Postby charlibunny » Tue Nov 22, 2011 5:29 pm

I was wondering if there is an alternative to Cerezette? I took this after both Sophie and Molly and I became very very depressed and just bled every day
I have heard there are others but Which should I go for?? I am booked in on Monday to sort out contraception. I am breastfeeding also. I have very very heavy periods anyway so the copper coil is not an option, the bloodloss with no coil makes me dizzy as it is.

There are lots of other mini pills but they may well give u the same problems. How long did u try cerazette for? Often bleeding settles after a few months if u can persevere with it.Same with the injection and implant. The mirena coil tends to givevu fewer side effects and lighter periods.

10-12 months 1st time, and about the same second time. Kept on bleeding.....

Can you have the merina whilst breastfeeding? I am scared of it. lol. The normal pill made me put on weight and have super heavy periods and I also got depression. I don't want to end up on a psych ward again :(

It turned me into a loon !!!!!
Honestly the mirena coil is fine, takes seconds to fit and apart from a little cramping it is painless x

How does it work? I don't like the one that lets the egg get fertilized and then not implant :(

found this

"It works by thickening the mucus inside your cervix, making it very difficult for sperm to get through. Also, the hormone thins down the lining of your womb – thus making it unlikely to 'accept' an egg."
