Inners for pocket/AIO nappies - Help!

Postby Rufies mama » Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:49 pm

I'm having a go at making an AIO nappy (cut out using an Easy fit as a template but using a similar make up inside to an Itti Bitti AIO). I'm a bit stuck on what to use as my inner/stay dry layer to prevent wicking etc.

I bought some suede cloth but this seems awfully rough, not soft enough for a bare bottom at all. The only alternative I have at the moment is white minky... I've seen minky as an inner in nappies requiring a wrap before but would minky work for a pocket or AIO? Wouldn't it wick moisture to the outside of the nappy? (which will be laminated polyester like Easyfits or laminated minky). :sewing: Thanks.

You can use minkee as an inner. Just make sure that the legs roll properly to prevent wicking.

Thanks for your reply. What do you mean by "legs roll properly"?

If the legs roll inwards, it creates a barrier to keep wetness inside the nappy. Just make sure that the outer rolls inwards towards the inner.
