Cotton party dress pattern for a toddler

Postby shoogah01 » Thu May 03, 2012 9:53 am

I am looking for a dress pattern that is easy to follow and make, I have 1m of Robert Kaufman pink cherries fabric sat here and want to make something to go with Aimie's new tutu nappy :D would like a party dress style or something that is open at the back to show off her tulle :giggle:

I am a beginner so it must be simple and pretty fool proof!

I am also happy to get more fabric to go in to making the dress so it doesn't have to be limited to the 1m

Found one!
It's a pinafore dress (If I translate the Dutch word it would be an apron dress, but that's not the one I was looking for :giggle: )
A tutorial

If you don't want to use two layer's of fabric u can use bias tape.

Those dresses last ages - my friend made one a few yrs ago (also beginner) and it lasted as a dress, then tunic, then swing top!

If you're looking for a party dress, I made a lovely one for my big girl's birthday. The pattern was really easy and it worked up quickly - http://mammymade.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03 ... dress.html
