Making prefolds

Postby eviesmummy » Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:00 pm

I could do with lots of boosters/prefold type nappies and want to give making our own a go. Overall I think I would prefer bamboo for slimness and absorbancy and because it stays lovely and soft, but have no idea which one as there are a fair few options :? so can you tell me which you prefer please :)

I've used bamboo fleece before and the made two rectangles. I lay the rectangles with overlapping edges the fold the outside edges overlapping as well. Then pin and sew all the edges.
It ended up a bit messy but with a little more time spent on it, it could have been ok.
I hope you understand my dodgy instructions :giggle:

I make them out of cotton interlock. nice and thin, yet really absorbant :)

Thanks ladies, will look at the fleece and the cotton :) Which do you think would fall into slimmest and most absorbant, or are both on a par?

The cotton interlock would probably be slimmest but I would guess that the bamboo fleece would be more absorbent.
