I've been considering making my own changing bag, but I'm a bit daunted by the complexity.

I followed tutorial on youtube. I've made 3 of those so far and although I don't find them easy I'm always pleasantly surprised by the result. ( except for the zip). If you google messenger bag tutorial by Whitney Sews you'll find it.
