The Bedroom

Postby MrC » Thu Nov 22, 2012 11:02 pm

There you go Tory, some pics of the bedroom in various stages of completion. @clothmama

Sorry I forgot to do the before shots.

Edited by Clothmama to add an explanation as you are probably thinking 'what??!' :giggle: J's dads bedroom was quite dark with deep green wallpaper and old carpets. He doesn't like upheaval so it hadn't been decorated for a long time and the darkness of the room was not doing much good with his failing eyesight. J and his mum decided that while he was in hospital was a perfect time to redecorate! J spent his first week in the UK doing it! As you can see from the pics the ceilings are enormous and they had to borrow a huge ladder! It was all painted a lovely antique white. Originally we thought that the cupboards would need painting to lighten the room but in fact with the white walls they look great :D The photos of the dusty looking stuff was what was on the back of the old carpet, the backing had disintegrated   (adding to his breathing problems perhaps???). He was given a special mattress to help prevent bedsores so J and MIL went to Ikea to get a bed to fit it, again it helps lighten the room I think!

Have added an explanation to the original post for everyone to know what you are talking about @Mr Clothmama :giggle: :giggle:

It looks fantastic, like a different room, what a shame you didn't get some before shots! It was so dark with the green wallpaper that I never even realised there was that bookshelf in the corner :giggle: :giggle: and I've been going to that house for 14 years!!!

Beautiful wood! The antique white sets it off beautifully :)
