Diy cloth nappy beginner

hello everyone I'm looking for some advice hints and tips
I'm starting to make my own cloth nappies I have a sewing machine and poppers and the kam popper gun
what else do I need ? best fabrics to use best type of nappy to make??
any advice hints or tips greatly appreciated

I've not made any, but plush addict might give you some ideas about types of fabric.
I prefer bamboo nappies generally.

My first DIY one I just made out of an old dressing gown so that I didn't worry if I stuffed it up - as it turned out it lasted right til potty training ! I did it a pocket fitted style with the fleece lining making a pocket to put extra boosting in. I used a mix of hemp and bamboo mainly and played around with different styles. If i were to have another baby I'd probably buy a proper pattern for a fitted (the Dunk and Fluff style I think!). Let us know how you get on and add some pics of your creations!
