I've finally spun the fibre.
Out of 200g, I've managed to get 280 yards!

Here are some finished pics of the skein!

Just lovely Jen :love: What can you do with 280 yards? That is what I'm struggling with as I think I'll end up with lots of little bits :spinning:

It's beautiful! I'm inspired. Did you use a traditional wheel to spin? I've been wanting to do this but haven't known where to begin. I think you should do a picture tutorial. :)

@clothmama
I'm going to make a narrow drop stitch scarf, something I can wear all year around.
The drop stitch sections should show off the hand spun well!

I started with just small pieces, but as you get better you'll be spinning larger amount of fibre to make bigger projects.
It just takes practice.

I've also seen a pattern for a lovely jumper with hand spun yarn for detailing on the shoulder, but then commercial yarn for the body and sleeves. It's really effective and the contrast is beautiful.
I'll see if I can find the picture!

Great idea to do a light scarf! Love that jumper, that is really effective!

@Rufies mama mine is a 'castle' style wheel so more stacked on top of itself with a bit smaller wheel than Jens (would love a big one when I have the room!)! Jen already got me interested and I had to go and buy one to try it :hohoho: just need to find more :spinning: time!
